35 Years at Malston Mill Farm.

Tony and I celebrate 35 years at Malston Mill Farm this week!!!  We have been so blessed to find such beautiful place to live and share with you.  A lot of water has passed under the bridges, during that 35 years, sometimes over!

When we started out self-catering was so different to what it is today.  Cheap, chearful bring your own linen and pay for your electricity.  How times have changed and how we too have had to make so many changes along the way, of course for the better.  We have contstantly  re-invested every Winter be it a new facility of just cottage upgrade but always maintaining our English Cottage look.

The Cottages now all  have showers, either walkin or over the bath.  3 Cottages now have dishwashers Mill, Courtyard and Dairy.  We hope to be able to add one to Riverside and Dairy later.  Wi-fi is now on satelite and so much more powerful signal than before.  Furnishing are also being updated, Mill Four poster bed has a new look and new curtains for Mill Lounge, Courtyard, Riverside are on the production line.

The gardens are a constant labour of love and offer a unique place of tranquility. We do not know of any other hotel or cottage complex, that offers this facility in the area.  Each year we strive to add as much colour as possible with different themed beds.  This year the green house and polytunnel are already bursting with home grown plants as well as hundreds of lilies and dahlias being brough on.  15 hanging baskets and tubs will be undertaken again in May to add even more colour to the courtyard.  The lake also adds a great attraction and view, who does not love waking up to a lake side view.  Fishing of course is an added bonus.

Malston Mill Farm has become quite unique in offering so many leisure facilities for only 21 guests.  These facilities are kept to the highest standards.  Pools regularly re-grounted keeping them pristine.  We are slowly running out of ideas, the zip wire our last leisure facility for the younger members has been a great hit.  We hope that we have provided something for everyone whatever age and of course for what ever the weather.  The indoor facilities have been greatly appreciated this February, whilst we took quite a bashing with the storms, our guests all had the most amazing holidays and many rebooked for the Summer.

Lastly with all the trials and tribulations going on perhaps you maybe thinking of a UK getaway.  The beauty of self catering is that you can keep your holiday as private as you wish, the cottages offer you your own space, Supermarkets will deliver your food shop and a couple of restaurants will deliver a takeaway to your cottage too.
