Looking forward to Spring

I am sure like me you are tired of the storms and looking forward to the Spring.  February Half Term was a great success, whilst the winds and rain battered us our guests could enjoy our leisure facilities.  It showed the importance of being able to offer onsite leisure facilities and offering so much more than just accommodation.  The following is a review we recieved on Facebook from one of our Half Term guests.

‘We have only just left and already I’m longing to be back! The scenery is simply stunning, and there’s so much to explore just around the farm, the amenities are second to none with a gorgeous heated indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, snooker and pool tables, skittles, air hockey, table tennis, darts. There’s a soft play for children and a zip wire too! The hosts Linda and Tony are warm, welcoming but by no means intrusive. We stayed in the lakeside cottage and had a fire burning every night. It was honestly bliss. I started and ended every day with a swim and even when we sadly had a car accident on our second day, it didn’t dampen the holiday at all because we were staying in our own little piece of heaven.
I cannot wait to come back, and Boris the dog you’re an absolute charmer.’

We hope to be able to share our home with you too over the coming Months.  March is such a lovely month, the gardens are coming to life.  It is a good time for pre-school familes and couples.  South Devon has so much to offer, you can walk our fantastic coastline, blow away the cobwebs and cosy up afterward in front of a log fire back at your cottage.  Dartmoor is a short drive away with incredible scenery, wild ponies and yellow gorse.  Or just relax , fish the lake, have a sauna, swim in the indoor pool or lay back in the jacuzzi and do absolutely nothing.

Mothers Day is on the 22nd March, why not treat the Mother in your family to a long weekend.  Our local restaurant ‘The Church House Inn at Stokenham serve a wonderful Sunday lunch, booking essential.

Look forward to meeting you in March.

With many family attractions which include Pennywell Farm with its minature pigs, Woodland Leisure Park good fun for all the family and South Devon Railway back in time with steam travel. For those that like walking there is the South Devon Coastal Path, many historic buildings and gardens which are so full of colour and this includes our own beautiful landscaped gardens. The many beaches which are a short drive from Malston Mill include Bantham, beautiful sandy beach with rock pools and sand dunes. North and South Sands Salcombe and many coves along the way including our pebbled coves like Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands. Stunning views on the Kingsbridge to Dartmonth coastal road drive and so so much more. Do not forget the cream tea!!

April 2018

It has been a while since I updated the Dairy. Too much work and not enough office hours.

Another busy few Winter months where we have been re-grouting all the pools to keep them looking prisine, refurbished two bathrooms in to walk in shower en-suites in Lakeside and Waterfall Cottages. Painting as much as possible in the time available. I have even learn’t to sew and made a new canopy for one of the four poster beds, quite an achievement for me I can say.

Coming very soon is our NEW website with lots of lovely pictures of the cottages and countryside, do keep a look out for it.

Bookings are coming in fast so if you have a date in mind please do not leave it too late. The smaller cottages are already fairly full, if the week you want is gone please contact me and I will probably be able to offer you a larger cottage at Waterfall cottage price. Please visit our availability calendar or email me (Linda) info@malstonmill.co.uk with your enquiry.

Remember, we offer so much more than just a cottage – a wonderful holiday experience in the most beautiful location.

Boris the great dane is now approaching 2 years old. He is a lovely dog and is quite a character. He gets on well with all guests that wish to know him.

Zip wire, much talked about, is now in place behind the tree house. Quite quick and good fun, only with parent supervision.

The gardener is busy clearing out the bushes on the far side of the lake which will open up some new planting areas and refresh the area. We have taken down all the conifers in front of the house so another bed to plant. We too now have a view of the lake as well as the cottages.

Malston Mill Farm is also on Facebook, why not visit and ‘like us’ so you can keep up to date with what is going on also keep up to date with any offers or cancellations.

Have added a few pictures to remind us of the fun we have at our weekly BBQ evening.
