2021 Opening

We are hoping to be open from the 12th April 2021 and we are fully booked for that date. The next availability is 17th April 2021 in Courtyard Cottage (sleeps) 4 and Riverside Cottage (sleeps 4 + cot).  Still have dates available in May and a few in June.  Our availability calendar on the Cottage page will give you our up to date  availability.

All kitchens (except Lakeside Cottage) now have large fridge/freezers and dishwashers and new worktops.  Mill Cottage and Courtyard Cottage have new curtains in the lounges, pictures to follow.   Yes, we have been busy during lockdown.

All facilities are available on a cottage at a time basis.  All facilities have cleaning stations so you can sanitise what you have used.

The lovely beaches of Devon are awaiting you too.  With so much to see and do one week will not be enough.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you back and sharing our paradise with you.

Happy New Year

Well sadly we are starting the year in lockdown and will be closed until who knows when.  Hopefully though if all obey the rules we may get the Covid-19 number down and Government will have a chance to roll out those vaccines to those that need them most and hopefully we can then be told to open again.

In the meantime we will be busy making more improvements to the Cottages.  By the time we reopen 5 of the cottages will all have dishwashers and large fridge/freezers and new work tops,  which should be of benefit to all.  I have turned my hand to curtain making so will be replacing many during the Winter months.  Our love of gardening will also be foremost in our minds with tree clearances, bed planning and general clearing up and making good ready for Spring planting.

We are taking bookings March onwards, in the hope that we will be open by then, however, if due to government lockdown you cannot travel then we will not charge you.  Please ensure you take out travel insurance for risk of track and trace, or illness as we cannot accept the risk of all cancellations.  Insurance companies such as Stay Sure now offer covid insurance.

Stay safe and keep well we hope to see you later in 2021.

Due to cancellation

Due to the Scotland still being in lock down until at least the 15th July 2020 it means our Scottish friends will not be able to take their annual family holiday with us this year. So disappointing after 20+ years, we will miss seeing them and the wee drams!!
We therefore have the following new availability.

Waterfall Cottage (sleeps 2) week of 4th July @ £835 and Dairy Cottage (sleeps 3) weekof 11th July @ £910. Bookings will be accepted subject to the Government allowing you to stay away from home. You will be invoiced once we know you can travel. So if you are fed up of being at home and desperate for a special holiday email me at info@malstonmill.co.uk and I will reserve the cottages for you. www.malstonmill.co.uk

Open for Summer 2020

Malston Mill Farm hopes to be open from 4th July 2020, subject to Government guidelines.  We are now taking bookings from this date and have a few vacancies during the Summer months.  All bookings are subject to the Government allowing you to travel.  In the event of a further lockdown and you being unable to travel deposit payments will be refunded on all bookings taken from todays date.  Other cancellations our terms and conditions will apply.  We intend that all the facilities will be open and plans are in place to make the complex safe and clean at all times.    Do not forget Christmas availability and we have just a  few cottages left for the New Year. We do hope you will come and share our paradise during 2020

Coronavirus and Malston Mill Farm

Due to the Cornavirus, Malston Mill Farm is temporarily closed.  We are following Government guidelines and will be open again as soon as the travel restriction is lifted.

In the meantime we continue to work hard in the hope that we will have guests to share our Cottages and gardens with later in the year.

Please stay safe and well.

35 Years at Malston Mill Farm.

Tony and I celebrate 35 years at Malston Mill Farm this week!!!  We have been so blessed to find such beautiful place to live and share with you.  A lot of water has passed under the bridges, during that 35 years, sometimes over!

When we started out self-catering was so different to what it is today.  Cheap, chearful bring your own linen and pay for your electricity.  How times have changed and how we too have had to make so many changes along the way, of course for the better.  We have contstantly  re-invested every Winter be it a new facility of just cottage upgrade but always maintaining our English Cottage look.

The Cottages now all  have showers, either walkin or over the bath.  3 Cottages now have dishwashers Mill, Courtyard and Dairy.  We hope to be able to add one to Riverside and Dairy later.  Wi-fi is now on satelite and so much more powerful signal than before.  Furnishing are also being updated, Mill Four poster bed has a new look and new curtains for Mill Lounge, Courtyard, Riverside are on the production line.

The gardens are a constant labour of love and offer a unique place of tranquility. We do not know of any other hotel or cottage complex, that offers this facility in the area.  Each year we strive to add as much colour as possible with different themed beds.  This year the green house and polytunnel are already bursting with home grown plants as well as hundreds of lilies and dahlias being brough on.  15 hanging baskets and tubs will be undertaken again in May to add even more colour to the courtyard.  The lake also adds a great attraction and view, who does not love waking up to a lake side view.  Fishing of course is an added bonus.

Malston Mill Farm has become quite unique in offering so many leisure facilities for only 21 guests.  These facilities are kept to the highest standards.  Pools regularly re-grounted keeping them pristine.  We are slowly running out of ideas, the zip wire our last leisure facility for the younger members has been a great hit.  We hope that we have provided something for everyone whatever age and of course for what ever the weather.  The indoor facilities have been greatly appreciated this February, whilst we took quite a bashing with the storms, our guests all had the most amazing holidays and many rebooked for the Summer.

Lastly with all the trials and tribulations going on perhaps you maybe thinking of a UK getaway.  The beauty of self catering is that you can keep your holiday as private as you wish, the cottages offer you your own space, Supermarkets will deliver your food shop and a couple of restaurants will deliver a takeaway to your cottage too.

Our availability is online @ www.malstonmll.co.uk or email me @ info@malstonmill.co.uk.   BOOK NOW  We still have a few cottages available Easter school holidays.

We would love to see you and have the pleasure of your company again in 2020.  If you have already booked then we look forward very much to welcoming you.

Kind regards.

Looking forward to Spring

I am sure like me you are tired of the storms and looking forward to the Spring.  February Half Term was a great success, whilst the winds and rain battered us our guests could enjoy our leisure facilities.  It showed the importance of being able to offer onsite leisure facilities and offering so much more than just accommodation.  The following is a review we recieved on Facebook from one of our Half Term guests.

‘We have only just left and already I’m longing to be back! The scenery is simply stunning, and there’s so much to explore just around the farm, the amenities are second to none with a gorgeous heated indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, snooker and pool tables, skittles, air hockey, table tennis, darts. There’s a soft play for children and a zip wire too! The hosts Linda and Tony are warm, welcoming but by no means intrusive. We stayed in the lakeside cottage and had a fire burning every night. It was honestly bliss. I started and ended every day with a swim and even when we sadly had a car accident on our second day, it didn’t dampen the holiday at all because we were staying in our own little piece of heaven.
I cannot wait to come back, and Boris the dog you’re an absolute charmer.’

We hope to be able to share our home with you too over the coming Months.  March is such a lovely month, the gardens are coming to life.  It is a good time for pre-school familes and couples.  South Devon has so much to offer, you can walk our fantastic coastline, blow away the cobwebs and cosy up afterward in front of a log fire back at your cottage.  Dartmoor is a short drive away with incredible scenery, wild ponies and yellow gorse.  Or just relax , fish the lake, have a sauna, swim in the indoor pool or lay back in the jacuzzi and do absolutely nothing.

Mothers Day is on the 22nd March, why not treat the Mother in your family to a long weekend.  Our local restaurant ‘The Church House Inn at Stokenham serve a wonderful Sunday lunch, booking essential.

Look forward to meeting you in March.

Valentines break and Half Term

Malston Mill Farm is now closed until 14th February 2020 when we will re open after Winter refurbishment.  Valentine weekend is the start date, why not come and have a romantic break, bottle of Chamagne and flowers.  It is also the first holdiay of the school calendar Half Term Holiday.  Our prices remain the same as our Winter prices with Indoor pool and hot tub, no increase for the School Holidays.  Why not book the week or consider a 4 night break from Monday 17th February 2020.  After a day exploring the sights return to your Cottage and Cosy up by a roaring fire (except Courtyard Cottage).  Play board games and generally relax.

Come share our paradise.
